Former Australia wicket-keeper Matthew Wade is set to begin a new chapter in his Indian Premier League (IPL) journey. After bringing an end to his international career, Wade has joined Gujarat Titans (GT) as an assistant coach for the 2025 season.
Wade, who previously represented the Titans in both 2022 and 2024 editions of the IPL, will now be contributing his expertise from the sidelines. He had a decent run as a player for the Titans, scoring 161 runs in his 12 appearances. He also won the championship in 2022.
He will join head coach Ashish Nehra, batting coach Parthiv Patel and assistant coaches Aashish Kapoor and Narendra Negi in the set-up.
After retiring from international cricket last year, Wade is making a transition into a coaching role. He was Australia’s stand-in assistant coach for the T20I series against Pakistan held last year.
