England batter Harry Brook has yet again pulled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season after withdrawing himself from the IPL 2024 season citing personal reasons. On both occasions, Delhi Capitals are the sufferers. DC bagged the star player for 6.25 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction and built the batting squad around Brook. This sudden decision from the England batter to pull out of IPL is likely to cost him a two-year ban from the league.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has put a clause that a player cannot withrdaw from the IPL citing pesronal reasons, as that could lead to the player not taking part for the next two years of the competition in the World's richest T20 league. Brook's benn guilty of pulling out two times, and this time BCCI will likely take a strict action, with news rules in place.

"Any overseas player who registers for an auction and, after getting picked, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season will get banned from participating in the IPL/IPL auction for two seasons," the BCCI guidelines state.
Harry Brook apologizes to fans, says "A very difficult decision"
Brook took to social media to share the news about his non-participation in IPL 2025 season for DC. The 26-year-old was visibly upset, and apologized to fans for about this difficult decision.
"I have made the very difficult decision to pull out of the upcoming IPL. I apologize unreservedly to the Delhi Capitals and their supporters," Brook wrote.
Citing England’s upcoming packed schedule, the star batter explained that he needed time to recover after a grueling schedule and focus on national duties.
"It is a really important time for England cricket, and I want to fully commit to preparing for the upcoming series. To do this, I need time to recharge after the busiest period in my career to date."

England will have a jam-packed schedule starting from May, as after hosting Zimbabwe for one off Test, England will play five-Test match series against India. After that, The Three Lions will fly Down Under to take part Ashes 2025-26 series.
