Virat Kohli has done it once again, reclaiming the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI rankings after his impressive 93 off 91 balls against New Zealand in the first ODI. The innings earned him the Player of the Match award and played a key role in his return to the top of the rankings.

Purple Patch Continues for Virat Kohli

Kohli now sits on 785 rating points, just one ahead of New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell, whom he has displaced. Former India captain Rohit Sharma occupies the third position with 775 points.

Since announcing his retirement from Test cricket, Kohli has been in fine form. Beginning with the 50-over series in Australia, he has looked in sublime touch, registering scores of 74 not out, 135, 102, 65 not out, and 93 in his last five outings.
