The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack is one of the oldest stadiums in India, established back in 1958 in Odisha. The stadium has witnessed numerous cricketing milestones, from hosting India’s third-ever ODI in 1982 to the historic Test in 1987, where Kapil Dev claimed his record 300th wicket.

The stadium is named after the historic Barabati Fort, which is located adjacent to the stadium. With a seating capacity of around 45,000, floodlights are installed for day-night matches, and it has served as a versatile home for both cricket and football. The stadium is going to undergo a renovation to increase the seating capacity to 60,000, along with revamping the outfield and adding a modern drainage system.

The surface has a grass surface and is known for its variable bounce and spin-friendly nature; however, in recent years, the stadium has been batting-friendly, with a lightning-fast outfield helping the batters, while spinners remain a lethal weapon. Barabati still resonates with high-voltage cricket.
